Ta Duy Thuc was born in 1918 in the district of Tam Nong in the province of Phu Tho. He was the leader of his commune’s guerrilla team and also participated in the Lien Viet front, notably in the peasant’s association (hoi nong dan xa). He became head of the public security committee in his commune (Truong ban Cong an xa) and also taught in binh dan hoc vu classes.
