Chu Thi Kim Son was born in 1916 in the district of Xuan Truong in the province of Nam Dinh. She was a member of the “Armed propaganda brigade of liberation” (the predecessor of the Vietnam People’s Army), and was also a district-level cadre in the area of Pho Yen.
