Do Dinh Tong was born in 1927 in Thai Binh. He was active in the commune of Hop Tien, in Bac Giang. He participated in the local youth association (Doan thanh nien cuu quoc xa) and the cultural committee, and was also a member of the commune’s guerrilla team.
